The Talisman – Chapter 27 összefoglaló

Chapter 27 / 28 · 26 perc a fejezet elolvasására

In Chapter 27, Richard loses his allies’ support for the crusade and travels to Saladin’s camp to arrange the combat against Conrade of Montserrat. Saladin reveals himself as Richard’s physician, while preparations for Sir Kenneth’s duel expose tensions between personal merit, royal birth, and Edith’s affection.

Mi történik?

  1. Philip and other princes announce their withdrawal, leaving Richard to acknowledge how his temper helps divide the alliance.
  2. Saladin provides a neutral meeting place and hospitality for the parties attending the combat.
  3. Edith notices that the arrows lack heads, preventing Richard from mistaking an alarming welcome for an attack.
  4. Richard cuts a metal handle, Saladin slices soft fabric, and Saladin reveals that he also serves as Richard’s physician.
  5. The rulers settle the combat arrangements, but Richard refuses to receive Sir Kenneth before he restores his honor.
  6. Richard reconciles with Edith, who trusts Kenneth’s cause but rejects marriage beneath her rank.
