The Talisman – Chapter 19 összefoglaló

Chapter 19 / 28 · 19 perc a fejezet elolvasására

In Chapter 19, Richard considers a settlement with Saladin but first persuades the divided Crusaders to renew their campaign by apologizing and offering to surrender command. His success alarms Conrade and the Grand Master, whose private discussion turns toward allowing a captive assassin to escape and attack him.

Mi történik?

  1. The Archbishop explains the allies’ plans to withdraw and proposes peace with Saladin, including a marriage to Edith Plantagenet.
  2. Richard neither accepts nor rejects the settlement and goes to the Council to attempt reconciliation.
  3. Richard apologizes to his allies, while the Grand Master accuses him of treating independent princes as subordinates.
  4. Richard controls his anger and offers to surrender command, inspiring renewed calls for an advance on Jerusalem.
  5. Conrade and the Grand Master fear Richard can dominate through either conquest or negotiation.
  6. The Grand Master suggests enabling a captive Charegite to escape, attack Richard, and kill an inconvenient page.
