Ivanhoe – Chapter 15 összefoglaló

Chapter 15 / 44 · 9 perc a(z) chapter elolvasására

In Chapter 15, Waldemar Fitzurse wins support for Prince John by promising rewards and presenting Richard’s possible return as a threat to the nobles. Meanwhile, Maurice de Bracy reveals a plan to abduct Rowena and stage her rescue, exposing the private ambitions that compete with the faction’s political aims.

Mi történik?

  1. Fitzurse uses promises, money, and warnings about Richard to persuade most nobles to attend a meeting at York supporting John’s claim.
  2. Returning to Ashby Castle late at night, Fitzurse finds De Bracy dressed as an English yeoman.
  3. De Bracy admits that he supports John for personal gain and plans to seize Rowena while disguised as an outlaw.
  4. He explains that Brian de Bois-Guilbert helps devise the scheme and supplies followers for the attack and staged rescue.
  5. Fitzurse warns that the attack risks popular support and that Bois-Guilbert may refuse to surrender Rowena.
  6. De Bracy leaves despite these warnings, while Fitzurse privately treats John as another instrument of his ambition before answering his summons.
