About this book

Away from home, friendship brings comfort, school rules invite mischief, and growing up becomes an adventure of its own.

In Caps and Capers, Gabrielle E. Jackson opens the door to a boarding school where girls live, study and play together. It is a small world with rules, rivalries and loyalties of its own. Away from their families, the girls find that friendship can bring both comfort and trouble.

High spirits give this gentle school story its spark, while growing up gives it heart. Beneath the mischief and quarrels lie questions of confidence, temper and the women these girls hope to become. The pleasure is in spending time among them, in an affectionate picture of school life shaped by the manners of its period.
