Journey to the West, Chapter 64 yhteenveto

Chapter 64 / 100 · 26 min luvun lukemiseen

In Chapter 64, Bajie clears Thorn Ridge, but a disguised spirit carries Tripitaka away to elders who discuss religion and exchange poems with him. Their hospitality turns into pressure to marry Apricot Immortal; his disciples find him, Wukong identifies the company as tree spirits, and Bajie destroys them despite his master's plea.

Mitä tapahtuu

  1. The pilgrims leave their grateful hosts, and Wukong uses magical tigers to frighten away the monks who keep following.
  2. Bajie enlarges himself and his rake to clear the dense thorns, while the others follow and help.
  3. An old man offers food, escapes Wukong's attack, and carries Tripitaka away to meet three other elders.
  4. Tripitaka discusses religious practice and exchanges poems with the elders before Apricot Immortal arrives and seeks his affection.
  5. The elders propose marriage, and a demon threatens Tripitaka, but he refuses until his searching disciples arrive at daybreak.
  6. Wukong identifies the vanished company as tree spirits, and Bajie destroys their trees despite Tripitaka's request for mercy.

Mihin kannattaa kiinnittää huomiota

Tripitaka distinguishes their nature from the harm he experiences. His plea contrasts with Wukong's concern about possible danger and Bajie's destructive response.
