About this book
What if knowing where you come from is the first step toward awakening?
In The Sophia of Jesus Christ, the risen Jesus appears to his followers on a mountain in Galilee. According to the text, their questions open a conversation about the origin of the universe, the nature of God, and the place of human beings within a vast spiritual world.
This early Christian dialogue presents Gnostic teachings through questions and answers. The Savior describes an unknowable God, heavenly powers called aeons, and the fall of Sophia, whose name means Wisdom. Its central concern is the soul: how it loses sight of its source, and how knowledge might awaken it.
What you’ll discover

What is the Sophia of Jesus Christ about?
It is a dialogue in which the risen Savior answers his disciples' questions. He describes a God beyond names, the aeons of light, the figure of Sophia and her defect, and the way knowledge guides the soul back to the Father.
Who is Sophia in this text?
Sophia means Wisdom in Greek. Here she is the partner of Immortal Man and also appears as Mother of the Universe and as Pistis. Her wish to bring forth beings alone leads to the defect that shapes the lower world.
Where was the Sophia of Jesus Christ found?
The introduction recounts the discovery of thirteen codices near Nag Hammadi in Egypt in 1945. The Berlin Codex is among this reconstruction's sources. The introduction traces the work's major teachings to Gnostic sources from the early centuries of the Common Era.
