The Gospel of the Savior is an anonymous early Christian dialogue that places Jesus with his apostles in the days before his death. They answer, question and sometimes plead with him. According to the text, his coming suffering carries meaning for salvation, giving these exchanges a sense of urgency.
The work survives in Coptic, the language of Christian Egypt, on badly damaged leaves. Many lines are lost, so this is not a complete, continuous story. Yet its surviving passages bring together teaching, prayer and the disciples’ questions, offering a glimpse of how Jesus is remembered outside the New Testament.

La obra es un diálogo, una forma que los primeros escritores cristianos usaban para mostrar de cerca a un maestro con sus amigos. Un breve discurso inicial da paso a las preguntas. Predominan las intervenciones cortas: un discípulo pregunta y el Señor responde, y el lector pasa rápidamente de un tema a otro.
El manuscrito copto está dañado. A muchas líneas les faltan palabras y algunos pasajes son frases dispersas. Los traductores señalan estas lagunas.
