About this book
What happens when the lord of the jungle enters a world where night never falls and reptiles rule?
A radio call draws Jason Gridley toward Pellucidar, a hidden world inside the hollow Earth. David Innes, an American adventurer and leader there, needs help. Gridley turns to Tarzan, Lord Greystoke, for a rescue that takes the ape-man far beyond his African forests. Skill and nerve matter more than familiar ground.
In Edgar Rice Burroughs’s Tarzan at the Earth's Core, the horizon curves upward and ancient beasts threaten the expedition. The Mahars, intelligent flying reptiles, rule much of this inner land, with fierce Sagoth soldiers enforcing their power. When events divide the party, the travelers must face danger apart. Loyalty gives them a reason to keep going.

In short
What if the Earth were hollow, and a whole world lay inside it, lit by a sun that never sets? In Tarzan at the Earth's Core, Edgar Rice Burroughs sends the Lord of the Jungle in a giant airship to the North Pole and down into Pellucidar.
From the 15-minute summary · Key idea 1
A radio message sets a rescue in motion
The story opens in the African forest, where Tarzan meets Jason Gridley, a young American who has travelled from Southern California to find him. Gridley has picked up radio messages from Abner Perry, the inventor who lives in Pellucidar, the world on the inside of the hollow Earth. Perry's last word says that David Innes, Emperor of Pellucidar, sits in a dungeon in the land of the Korsars.
Tarzan doubts the idea at first, because scientists say a hollow Earth has been disproved. Gridley answers with the things Arctic explorers have reported, such as warm winds, green branches floating south, pollen on the ice, and strange compass behaviour. He admits he is sure of an inner world but not of a polar opening, yet he thinks the evidence is enough to justify a try.
