About this book
What happens when a camel and a needle’s eye become a public test of faith?
The Acts of Peter and Andrew brings two brothers into a city where their message meets disbelief. This anonymous early Christian legend follows the apostles into hostile ground, where preaching becomes confrontation. At its centre stands Onesiphorus, a wealthy skeptic whose doubts bring questions of riches and the kingdom of God into sharp focus.
According to the tale, Peter commands a camel to pass through the eye of a sewing needle. A saying of Jesus becomes a physical test before a doubting crowd. Part of the apocryphal acts, the story explores spiritual authority through extraordinary deeds. Christians read and copy such tales for devotion, preaching, and honouring the apostles.

A cloud of light carries Andrew to safety
Andrew has just left the city of the man-eaters, where he suffered badly. A cloud of light lifts him and carries him to a mountain. There Peter sits with three companions, Matthias, Alexander and Rufus.
Peter asks whether things went well. Andrew says yes, though his labors have hurt him. He tells Andrew to come and rest a while. In a few lines the text sets up the bond that runs through the tale, a leader who looks after a wounded brother.

What is The Acts of Peter and Andrew about?
It tells how Peter, Andrew and three companions travel to a city of unbelievers. They meet a farmer, face a hostile ruler, and answer demands for a sign with a camel passing through the eye of a needle.
What does the camel and needle mean in this story?
It picks up a saying of Jesus that a rich man enters God's kingdom with difficulty. The story makes the image literal, so Peter and Andrew must prove it before the city and before a wealthy doubter.
Is The Acts of Peter and Andrew in the Bible?
No. It belongs to the apocryphal acts, which church councils did not accept as scripture. Many early Christians still read such acts for teaching and enjoyment, and they were copied and retold for centuries.
