Was geschieht

  1. Fearing the approaching moonless nights, the Time Traveller decides he needs weapons and a sleeping place beyond the Morlocks’ reach.
  2. He takes Weena toward the Palace of Green Porcelain, but distance, damaged shoes, and darkness slow their progress.
  3. He stops before a dense wood and watches beside sleeping Weena on an open hillside until dawn, without seeing Morlocks.
  4. The stars prompt thoughts about humanity’s disappearance, while his memory of underground meat suggests a horrifying explanation.
  5. After discarding his painful shoes, he enters the wood with Weena and becomes convinced that the Morlocks feed on the Eloi.
  6. He continues toward his chosen refuge, planning to obtain fire, force the bronze doors, recover his machine, and escape with Weena.
