Retirement gifts for people who love to read

Three gifts for a well-earned rest

How it works

1. Choose the book and the format.
2. Write your message, or upload your own handwriting.
3. We print it for you and send it to your door.

What do you give someone who is retiring?

Something for the time they now have. A book is the classic gift for a reader: choose one of the gifts on this page, or give a year of the library so they can read and hear any classic they like.

What can I write in a retirement book?

Say thank you, name a memory, and wish them well. A few lines on a page of their own at the front is all it takes. The message prints in any language and any script.

How long does a personal book take to arrive?

Each book is printed when you order it. The delivery time for your country is shown at the top of this page, and again before you pay.

Can I return a book with my own message in it?

A book with your own message is made for you, so it cannot be returned except for a printing fault.

Can I give a year of the library as a gift?

Yes. We email the recipient a code on the day you choose, and the year never renews.
