Worum es in diesem Buch geht
What would you do if a friend you trusted led you to the edge of an enchanted forest, where no one who enters can find the way back? That is the fate of little Princess Blondine in the first tale of this book.
Old French Fairy Tales gathers five stories by the Comtesse de Ségur, who died in 1874. She wrote them for children, to teach as well as to delight. Each tale sets a young person against a wicked fairy or a cruel relative, and asks whether kindness, obedience and courage can win. You get the plots and the lessons, with the endings left for you.

Punkt 1 von 10
A jealous queen sends Blondine into the forest
Blondine is the daughter of the good King Benin, named for her fair hair. Her mother dies soon after her birth. The king marries Fourbette, a proud, jealous and wicked woman, and three-year-old Blondine sees it in her eyes at once.
Fourbette has a daughter, Brunette, who pinches and bullies her half sister. Blondine still makes excuses for her. The king loves Blondine more each day, and the queen's hatred grows with it.
When Blondine is seven, Fourbette finds a weak point in Gourmandinet, the boy who drives her carriage. He is a glutton who will do almost anything for sweets. The queen offers him endless bonbons if he will drive Blondine to the Forest of Lilacs, where no one who enters can leave. He hesitates all night, then gives in.
Blondine climbs the fence to pick lilacs for her father and cannot find the way out. A white cat leads her to a castle where a white doe, Bonne-Biche, promises she will see her father again. The doe puts her to sleep for seven years and teaches her while she rests.
A weakness you never correct becomes a handle for someone else to use.
That’s 1 of 10 key points.
