What happens

1. Launcelot prays at a cross to avoid mortal sin, then sleeps and sees a crowned man with kings and knights.
2. An old man descends with angels, blesses the gathering, and rebukes one knight for unjust warfare and worldly pleasure.
3. At midday, Launcelot meets the knight who took his equipment, knocks him down, and recovers his own horse.
4. Launcelot leaves the other horse tied nearby and rides until nightfall.
5. A hermit shelters Launcelot, who identifies himself, describes his quest, and recounts his vision to seek advice.
