About Mack Reynolds

Mack Reynolds (1917-1983) was an American science-fiction writer, one of the most prolific and socially engaged authors of the genre's mid-century decades. Unusually for his time, he used science fiction to explore politics, economics, and social change, imagining futures shaped by ideologies and reforms rather than only rockets and rayguns. A widely travelled former socialist activist, Reynolds filled his stories with speculation about how societies might be organised differently, alongside plenty of adventure and intrigue. He was among the most popular authors in the science-fiction magazines of his era.
