In 1 Enoch
In 1 Enoch, Semjâzâ appears as a leader who fears being left alone to bear punishment for a great sin. The list of leaders calls him their chief, and another passage describes him as being in charge of his followers.
Semjâzâ teaches spells and the use of plant roots for magic, while Armârôs teaches how to break enchantments. The text says that Semjâzâ comes down to earth and takes human women as his own. The Lord then tells Michael to capture Semjâzâ and his followers, saying that they have made themselves unclean with human women.
