Book 10 af 12 · 44 min. til at læse bogen

In Book 10, Jupiter declares himself impartial after Venus and Juno dispute the war, while Aeneas returns with Tuscan allies and strengthens the besieged Trojans. Fighting spreads along the shore, and Pallas rallies his fleeing men before Turnus challenges him, kills him, and offers his body back to the Arcadians.

Hvad sker der?

  1. Venus appeals for Trojan protection, Juno blames Aeneas for the conflict, and Jupiter leaves the war to fate.
  2. The Trojans defend their walls while Aeneas sails toward them with Tuscan reinforcements secured through Tarchon.
  3. Cymodoce warns Aeneas about the siege and speeds his ship onward; his raised shield renews the defenders’ courage.
  4. Turnus moves to oppose the landing, Tarchon’s vessel breaks apart, and Aeneas kills several enemy warriors.
  5. Pallas rallies the retreating Arcadians, kills Halesus, and faces renewed resistance from Lausus.
  6. Turnus takes Pallas’s belt, and Aeneas responds to news of the death by capturing sacrificial victims and killing enemies without mercy.
