Hvad sker der?

1. Two knights meet and discuss Arthur’s strong fellowship, which one believes cannot be defeated.
2. The other knight carries poison intended for Arthur and says a trusted friend has accepted gifts to administer it.
3. One knight warns about Merlin, but the poison carrier dismisses the warning, and they separate.
4. Pellinore and his lady reach a well, where they find a knight’s body and a young woman’s head.
5. Pellinore grieves that his pursuit of his quest prevents him from saving the woman.
6. Following his companion’s advice, Pellinore carries the knight to a hermitage and gives the hermit the armor in return for funeral services.
