2. At Mark’s feast, Sir Uwaine challenges Cornwall’s knights and defeats Sir Andred and Sir Dinas.
3. Sir Gaheris offers to fight, but Uwaine reminds him of their shared oath and family ties.
4. Mark secretly rides ahead of Uwaine and wounds him with a sudden charge.
5. Sir Kay finds Uwaine, rebukes Sir Andred and the Cornish knights, and sends Uwaine to an abbey for healing.
6. Before departing, Gaheris tells Mark that banishing Tristram brings shame and deprives his court of protection.
