Chapter 22-resumé af Dracula

Chapter 22 af 27 · 22 min. til at læse chapter

In Chapter 22, Jonathan Harker records the group’s promise to keep Mina informed, her painful burning by a Sacred Wafer, and their campaign to make the Count’s earth-boxes unusable. They treat the boxes at Carfax and eight in Piccadilly, but a missing ninth box leaves their search incomplete while two companions pursue other addresses.

Hvad sker der?

  1. Dr. Seward reports Renfield’s death, and the group agrees that Mina must share all their information.
  2. Mina promises to stay alive after Van Helsing warns that death could make her like the Count.
  3. A Sacred Wafer burns Mina’s forehead, and the companions renew their commitment to help her.
  4. The men place pieces of the Host inside every earth-box at Carfax, then travel toward Piccadilly.
  5. A locksmith admits Lord Godalming and Quincey Morris to the house without attracting suspicion.
  6. The hunters treat eight boxes, discover property deeds and keys, and divide to pursue the remaining refuges.
