Hvad sker der?

1. Charmion urges the despairing Harmachis to survive for revenge and arranges passage to Alexandria with help from Brennus.
2. She disguises him as a Syrian merchant, supplies money and clothes, and explains how to pass the guard.
3. Charmion confesses that jealousy prompts her to expose his conspiracy and advise Cleopatra to choose Antony instead of him.
4. She asks Harmachis to kill her, but he refuses and declares that both must bear responsibility for their sins.
5. He rejects her plea to accompany him and makes her swear to serve him again if called.
6. Harmachis leaves Charmion lying in despair; he states that nine years pass before they meet again.
