This is for readers who love tales of wandering apostles, miracle contests and bold wonders, and for anyone curious about the stories early Christians told beyond the Bible.
Che cos’è questo libro
What would you do if a city told you to prove your God by passing a camel through the eye of a needle? In The Acts of Peter and Andrew, two brothers face exactly that demand. Then a rich man makes it again, and this time he hides a trap inside it.
This is an apocryphal act, an early Christian story of what the apostles did after the time of Jesus. Its author is unknown. You get a clear path from a rescue by a cloud of light, through a roadside field, to the gates of a hostile city.

A cloud of light carries Andrew to safety
The story opens just after Andrew leaves the city of the man-eaters. Andrew has just left the city of the man-eaters, where he suffered badly. A cloud of light lifts him and carries him to a mountain. There Peter sits with three companions, Matthias, Alexander and Rufus.
Peter asks whether things went well. Andrew says yes, though his labors have hurt him. Peter asks whether things went well. He tells Andrew to come and rest a while. In a few lines the text sets up the bond that runs through the tale, a leader who looks after a wounded brother.
Then Jesus appears to the group as a small child. He tells them to go to the city of the barbarians, promises to be with them, and departs. Jesus greets them and promises to accompany them. They do not argue or ask for proof. They accept the order and prepare to walk.
A short rest comes first, then a command, and with the command a promise of presence. Everything that follows grows out of that promise.
When a task looks too big, you can go forward on a promise of company instead of your own strength.

The full book, start to finish.Questions about The Acts of Peter and Andrew
What is The Acts of Peter and Andrew about?
It tells how Peter, Andrew and three companions travel to a city of unbelievers. They meet a farmer, face a hostile ruler, and answer demands for a sign with a camel passing through the eye of a needle.
What does the camel and needle mean in this story?
It picks up a saying of Jesus that a rich man enters God's kingdom with difficulty. The story makes the image literal, so Peter and Andrew must prove it before the city and before a wealthy doubter.
Is The Acts of Peter and Andrew in the Bible?
No. It belongs to the apocryphal acts, which church councils did not accept as scripture. Many early Christians still read such acts for teaching and enjoyment, and they were copied and retold for centuries.
Who wrote The Acts of Peter and Andrew and when?
The author is unknown. It survives in a small number of manuscripts, none particularly early, and scholars debate its origins, date, and relationship to earlier traditions.
Is The Acts of Peter and Andrew easy to read?
Yes, in the sense that its chapters are short, its scenes are vivid, and its plot is clear. You meet a farmer, a ruler and a rich man in quick, memorable episodes.
