About this book
What if a hole in the familiar world leads to a reality no one can fully grasp?
In The Blind Spot, Austin Hall and Homer Eon Flint build a science fiction adventure around a gap in reality. Here, the ordinary rules of space seem to fail, and another world lies close by. The mystery draws people toward a place where understanding no longer feels certain.
Scientific curiosity becomes a kind of courage. Those who seek to understand the blind spot move toward danger, driven by questions they cannot leave alone. Bold scenes keep the mystery moving, while dread gathers around a troubling idea: the world may hold things human beings cannot measure or fully understand.

From the 15-minute summary · Key idea 1
A stranger who has never seen the sun
On a foggy morning in September 1905, a tall man in a black overcoat steps off a tram at the foot of Market Street in San Francisco. He carries a small satchel of reddish leather. People notice him at once, because he looks old and young together, and the longer you look, the younger he seems.
On the Key Route ferry he stops at the cigar stand and asks to buy a cigar. He says it has a little sister, the cigarette, and he asks the clerk to show him how to use one. The clerk is twenty-one and used to jokers, but one look into the stranger's dark, glowing eyes tells him this is no joke. The man has plainly never seen tobacco before.
