About this book
What frightens giants whose strength seems beyond challenge?
The Book of Giants is an ancient Jewish story from the Enoch tradition, surviving in torn, incomplete fragments. According to the text, the Watchers leave heaven and take human wives. Their giant children inhabit a world scarred by violence, where even great strength offers no shelter from troubling visions.
Ohyah and his brother Hahyah bring frightening dreams before their fellow giants. Seeking understanding, they send Mahaway across the desert to Enoch, the wise scribe they trust to interpret heaven’s warnings. Through dreams, speeches and a messenger’s journey, the surviving scenes explore fear, judgment and the limits of power.

A lost story found in the Dead Sea caves
The Book of Giants is a Jewish text from the Second Temple period. It belongs to the Enoch tradition, a family of writings gathered around the patriarch Enoch. No author is known.
For almost two thousand years the book is only a rumor. Ancient writers mention it and early church fathers condemn it, but nobody has a copy to read. Then, in 1947, a Bedouin shepherd stumbles upon pottery jars in a cave near Qumran, on the shore of the Dead Sea. They belong to the library of a Jewish sect, most likely the Essenes. These people hid their texts in the caves around 68 CE, as Roman legions moved through the land to crush the great Jewish revolt. Among the pieces of the Enoch writings, scholars come to recognize parts of the Book of Giants.
