About this book

A fearless prince can face a dragon—but can courage protect him in a court full of pride and jealousy?

Siegfried leaves his father's court to learn a smith's craft. Strong, bold, and restless, he enters a world of hard-won skill and dangerous deeds. Mary Macgregor follows the young hero through a legend of a magic sword, a dragon, and cursed gold.

At Worms, Siegfried comes to the court of King Gunther and longs to win the princess Kriemhild. Yet fame and strength offer no simple protection here. Hagen watches him with distrust, while the story asks what courage costs when a fearless hero trusts others too easily.
