The Lost Books of the Bible, Part 6, Chapter XXII summary

Part 6, Chapter XXII of 170 · 6 min to read the chapter

In Chapter XXII, Pilate questions Annas and Caiaphas, who identify Jesus as God's Son through witness reports, scripture, and a calculation of sacred history. The unit also presents two declarations of Christian belief and Paul's message to Laodicea, which urges sound teaching, good works, prayer, and shared reading with the Colossians.

What happens

  1. Pilate gathers temple authorities, orders the gates closed, and demands the sacred book and scriptural evidence concerning Jesus.
  2. Under oath, Annas and Caiaphas report witnesses to Jesus alive after death, his ascent, and his deeds among the dead.
  3. They connect Christ's coming with prophecy, the ark's measurements, and a chronology they claim totals five thousand five hundred years.
  4. Two declarations affirm beliefs concerning God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, forgiveness, and resurrection.
  5. Paul addresses believers at Laodicea, rejoices in his chains, and urges truth, good works, unity, and freedom from greed.
  6. Paul directs the recipients to exchange letters with the Colossians, and a closing heading names correspondence between Paul and Seneca.
