Chapter 7 of 16 · 1 min to read the chapter
In Chapter 7, the instructions explain how to baptize, preferring running water but allowing other water, warm water, or three pourings over the head when needed. They also require the person receiving baptism to fast for one or two days beforehand and call on the baptizer and others able to join.
What happens
- The instructions place prior teaching before baptism and direct the baptizer to invoke Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Running water is preferred, but other water is allowed, and warm water may replace cold.
- If neither is available, the baptizer pours water over the head three times while invoking the same names.
- The baptizer and others able should fast; the person receiving baptism must fast beforehand for one or two days.
