In Chapter 15, Edmund objects to Lovers’ Vows, but Maria refuses to withdraw, and the others continue preparing their performance despite his disapproval. When they pressure Fanny to act, Edmund defends her freedom to refuse and Miss Crawford comforts her; Tom then proposes recruiting Charles Maddox for the unfilled role of Anhalt.
