Why does my printed order need a tax number?

Printed books sent to Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile or Peru need the recipient's tax number for customs. Your order waits until we have it; digital books and your plan never need one, and nobody elsewhere is asked.

  • Brazil: enter your CPF (CNPJ for a company) in the CPF/CNPJ field at checkout.
  • Mexico: enter your RFC in the RFC field at checkout.
  • Argentina: enter your CUIT or CUIL (eleven digits) in the basket before checkout. A DNI cannot be used.
  • Chile: enter your RUT in the basket.
  • Peru: enter your DNI or RUC in the basket.

If your order is missing the number, we email you within a few hours. The email is called 'One number is needed to send your books'. Press Send my number, or reply to the email with the number only, never a photo of an ID card.

When we have the number, your order goes to print.
