De quoi parle ce livre ?
What happens when a girl from a Texas cattle ranch invites her whole Massachusetts school club to spend two months on her land? Blue Bonnet's Ranch Party opens with that bold plan, as a private railway car called The Wanderer rolls toward Texas.
Caroline E. Jacobs and Edyth Ellerbeck Read wrote this story for young readers. Blue Bonnet Ashe, nearly sixteen, brings her friends home after a year in the East. The summer brings a noisy Fourth of July, a rescue on a country road, a camp in the hills, and a birthday party. Beneath the fun runs a quieter question. Will she go back East in the fall?

A private railway car starts the summer
The story opens aboard The Wanderer, a private railway car lent to Uncle Cliff Ashe. Blue Bonnet rides it back toward Woodford, Massachusetts. She plans to collect Grandmother Clyde and her school club, the We Are Sevens, and carry them to her Texas ranch for two months.
Something nags at her. A telegram orders Uncle Cliff home by Monday, and a mysterious box marked dangerous travels with the trunks. Blue Bonnet hates secrets and presses her uncle, who plays dumb badly. Then comes a blow, because Susy and Ruth cannot come. Ruth has scarlet fever and Susy was exposed.
The farewell ends in chaos when her dog Solomon is forgotten. Alec Trent leaps off the moving car to find him, and Uncle Cliff catches the flying dog by the tail. The trip begins with generosity, a small loss, and a good laugh.
That’s 1 of 10 key points.
