Chapter 8 de 28 · 18 min para leer el capítulo

In Chapter 8, Richard agrees to receive Saladin’s physician, but Thomas de Vaux and the Archbishop of Tyre first inspect the recovery of Kenneth of the Leopard’s sick follower. The patient’s improvement convinces De Vaux, while news that Kenneth has returned and gone to the royal tent alarms the archbishop.

Qué sucede

  1. Richard praises the Scottish knight’s courage, questions his mission to Engaddi, and agrees to accept the physician Saladin sends.
  2. De Vaux consults the Archbishop of Tyre, who permits Muslim medical help but fears poisoning.
  3. At Kenneth’s hut, Adonbec el Hakim rebukes the visitors for disturbing his patient and asks them to judge his results.
  4. The physician wakes the sick follower, and De Vaux checks his pulse and confirms that his fever is gone.
  5. After another dose, the patient asks for his master and sleeps peacefully when De Vaux assures him Kenneth has returned.
  6. The archbishop becomes alarmed by Kenneth’s return and summons to Richard, while De Vaux escorts the physician toward the royal tent.
