Book 2 de 12 · 37 min para leer el book

In Book 2, Aeneas recounts how Greek deception destroys Troy, how he fights through its burning streets, and how divine commands redirect him toward protecting his family and household gods. He escapes with his father and son, loses Creusa, hears her ghost promise a homeland in Latium, and leads gathered exiles away.

Qué sucede

  1. Sinon deceives the Trojans about the wooden horse, and serpents kill Laocoön and his sons, convincing the crowd to admit it.
  2. Greek soldiers emerge at night, open the gates, and attack; Hector’s ghost tells Aeneas to escape with Troy’s gods.
  3. Aeneas fights with a small band, but their borrowed Greek armor brings confusion and death; Pyrrhus kills Priam.
  4. Venus stops Aeneas from attacking Helen, reveals the gods destroying Troy, and sends him to protect his family.
  5. Heavenly signs persuade Anchises to leave; Aeneas carries him, guides Ascanius, and loses Creusa during their escape.
  6. Creusa’s ghost names Latium as his destined home; at dawn, Aeneas withdraws with his father and a crowd of exiles.
