De qué trata este libro
What if a family could study the Bible with nothing but a good question and a verse to answer it? That is the whole method of Bible Readings for the Home Circle, an anonymous devotional guide. Each topic is a run of numbered questions, and the answers come largely from Scripture. The book opens with the Bible's history, from early scrolls to the Septuagint, the Vulgate, the printing press and the work of Wyclif, Luther and Tyndale. It has eighteen parts, from salvation to the world to come.

The Bible explains and proves itself
The book begins with the Bible's own story. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew on scrolls. A Greek translation, the Septuagint, was made in Alexandria by seventy scholars. Jerome later produced the Latin Vulgate.
Copying by hand kept Bibles scarce, so ordinary people knew little of what they said. The first book printed with movable type was a Latin Bible in 1456. The author sees this as a turning point for the Reformation.
The opening essay claims that the Bible shows its own divine origin. Part 1 backs this with verses saying all Scripture is given by inspiration of God. Studying it is called a duty and a joy, and the Bereans are praised for searching daily.
That’s 1 of 9 key points.
