Each speaker looks back on his life, names a fault or praises a virtue, and turns personal experience into counsel for his descendants.

Reuben warns about desire, Simeon confronts envy, and Levi describes a heavenly vision of priesthood. Joseph recalls temptation in Egypt, while Benjamin teaches the value of a good mind. Alongside these moral lessons, the text presents visions of the tribes’ future and hopes for redemption. Its unknown authorship and Jewish and Christian layers invite careful reading.

Inside this book

Twelve voices at parting – Meet fathers who turn memories, confessions, and hopes into final guidance for their children.

The roots of resentment – Explore warnings about envy, anger, and hatred through the patriarchs’ accounts of their own failings.

Visions beyond the family – Follow Levi’s heavenly vision and the text’s hopes for a priest and a king.

Forgiveness under pressure – Read Joseph’s recollections alongside teachings on integrity, forgiveness, and the demands of brotherly love.

Between two traditions – Encounter biblical family stories recast as moral counsel within a text shaped by Jewish and Christian traditions.

Perfect for Bible readers curious about Jewish and early Christian retellings, and anyone drawn to ancient ethics and reflective moral speeches.

Open the first page now and listen to these farewell voices weigh how a life should be lived.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1027/9442/8764/files/93_304dfd7b-a15b-4c92-93b9-f9e70d0f3889.jpg?v=1782113314
