According to the tale, the archangel Michael brings Solomon a ring that gives him power over spirits. The king sends the boy to bind Ornias, turning a servant’s suffering into a confrontation with the unseen.

Written in Solomon’s voice, this anonymous text follows the king as he questions spirits and compels them to build the Temple in Jerusalem. Ornias, Beelzeboul and Asmodeus reveal their powers and weaknesses. Traditionally attributed to Solomon, but regarded by scholars as a later work, it explores power, temptation and the pursuit of wisdom through religious folklore.

Inside this book

A boy and a ring – Follow a young servant as he carries the king’s ring to confront the demon stealing his strength.

Names that reveal weaknesses – Discover how each spirit names its harms and the angel or remedy that defeats it.

The prince of demons – Meet Beelzeboul, feared by other spirits and brought before Solomon to confess.

An uncanny procession – Encounter a headless spirit, a woman with donkey legs, and seven spirits bound together.

Stones for the Temple – Watch the tale turn supernatural power toward the hard labour of building in Jerusalem.

Perfect for readers curious about Solomon legends, ancient magic, early Christian folklore and demonology, especially those who enjoy strange catalogues and old stories.

Open the first page and follow the boy into Solomon’s strange world of spirits, names and power.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1027/9442/8764/files/loa-forbidden-00190-en_fc7907c7-5595-4848-99f1-e96d11ead4a2.png?v=1792697448
