Worum es in diesem Buch geht
What if the greatest person in God's kingdom is the one who trusts like a child? George MacDonald, a Scottish minister turned novelist and poet, builds three volumes on that startling idea. Published in 1867, 1885 and 1889, his Unspoken Sermons speak directly to the reader. Each takes a scene or verse from the Bible and works it through with plain argument and warm feeling. His God is good all the way down, and everything God does comes from love. C. S. Lewis called him his master.

Greatness in God's kingdom looks like a child
In the first sermon, the disciples argue about who is greatest. Jesus sets a child among them. MacDonald asks what Jesus sees in that child. It is not ignorance but a readiness to trust, to be taught and to live without scheming for rank.
A child does not ask if it deserves its parents' care. It simply lives in that care. So it is free from measuring itself against its neighbours. To welcome the small, MacDonald says, is to welcome God, and to despise the weak is to turn from the Father himself.
Being childlike does not mean being foolish. The childlike person grows in understanding but keeps the simple trust that began it. For you, faith here is not a prize for the clever or the strong. It begins in humility and asks you to drop the anxious game of comparing yourself with others.
That’s 1 of 9 key points.
